Carnival Moon Dough

We had a lot of fun making Moon Dough to accompany our Recipe Books.  Moon Dough is made by mixing cornflour and hair conditioner.  Not only does it feel soft and silky, but it smells great to.

Book Club

Once a week we get together in our book club groups to discuss the latest book we are reading.  This is a great opportunity to talk about the things we like, don't like, favourite characters, favourite genres, favourite authors, and things we have learned.  Sometimes we get ideas about books or series that we might like to tap into.

Maliesi's New Puppy

We were so lucky to meet Maliesi's new puppy last week.  She was very friendly.  Some of us were treated to a cuddle and a face wash.

Playdough...Fundough

We have a new task to explore...

The TASK

The teachers at Kahikatea Kindy have noticed some of their children are bored with the playdough.  They are concerned that if they don’t change their recipe to make it more exciting, lots of children will stop playing at the playdough table.  Many of the children have food allergies so they need to be careful what ingredients they use.  Your task is to come up with a recipe for playdough, that meets the following criteria:

- doesn't stain
- is safe to eat - might be horrible to eat but is
safe for children with allergies
- doesn’t go mouldy
- is inexpensive
- is pliable and stretchy

- is exciting for kindy kids to play with
